It's been a busy week in this twin household. The babies have been hard to please lately. They haven't been able to be awake and content. As soon as they wake up they are screaming for food and as soon as I'm done feeding they are screaming for seconds and they eat until they are passed out again. In the meantime, as soon as the babies start crying Hogan will look for trouble. As I try to calm two crying babies I'm also yelling at Hogan to stop doing whatever it is he's doing. I look and sound like a crazy lady this week. The good news is they are doing amazing at night. They wake to eat and fall right back asleep. Here's hoping to a better week next week!

Happy Birthday Daddy!!
Today is Jared's 31st Birthday! We have picture perfect weather to celebrate. We're going to bbq tonight (gouda burgers with sweet potato fries) and then enjoy some sweet cupcakes (thanks betty crocker)! Carter was also a great help with baking today. He was being fussy so I put him in the front pack and he has been with me as I've baked, done dishes, wrapped presents, etc. He just doesn't want to miss out on the fun. Below is a picture taken last weekend of Jared with his little boys. I love how they are both looking directly into his eyes.

The Week Summer Arrived
We have been enjoying amazing summer-like weather this week! I've had the windows open at home letting the warm breeze make its way through our home. I've also brought the boys and the dog out on a walk everyday--it feels great to get them out and to get a little exercise myself. I know it won't last so I'm trying to get outside at every free moment. It's crazy how nice weather makes you happier. I don't feel as tired or worn down this week. Thanks warm sunshine!

My jogging stroller, which I absolutely love! The sun canopies come down nice and low to block the sun from their face, it rides nice both on the road and off road, it works well with a dog walking beside me, and it's hunter orange!

A Grandparent's Love
As a Mom I know how much I love my children. I only wonder what it would be like to love my child's baby. Our boys are surrounded by loving, adoring grandparents and that fills my heart. Growing up I loved spending time with my grandparents. My grandparents always made me feel comforted and loved. I know our boys will get those same feelings from their grandma's and grandpa's.

My Mom's Mom
O'er the River and Through the Woods...
We have been loving our week at Grammy and Papa's house. The boys get spoiled and so does Mom! We've had lots of visitors so the boys are loving being held all day. I think we'll be making this trip often :-)

The Carnation
A bouquet of flowers (from the lovely Nona or Tutti) provided some entertainment for our boys one evening. We usually bring them in the kitchen with us while we're making and eating dinner. Someday I'll have them in the kitchen helping me cook and bake but for now they get to just sit and watch. While making dinner we noticed that the boys weren't interested in Mom and Dad but were staring at a bouquet of flowers, mesmerized by their beauty. After staring for a minute they started batting at the flowers. It was pretty cute!

Lots of Firsts
Growing up as a little girl my family always went out for Mexican food at our favorite local restaurant. I've often imagined the day when I could bring my children to this same restaurant to enjoy the spicy mexican cuisine. After a 2.5 hour silent car ride I decided to bring the babies out to dinner (after I fed them of course) and they did excellent. This was their first road trip, their first time at a restaurant, and their first time in my hometown.
We packed the boys in front packs over the weekend and brought them for a long walk in the woods. This has been a great way for us to get out with the babies and the dog. The weather is getting nicer so we'll be doing this a lot more often.

A weekend full o' R &R
This weekend has been pretty calm (so far...we still have the rest of today for the boys to spark things up) and we have enjoyed some rest and relaxation. Bath time kicked off the weekend, which was much-needed because the boys have an innate ability to project vomit, urine, and poop out of themselves...Carter peed out of the changing station all over the stairs and even managed to get poop up to his neck! Mom even got some rest yesterday when Hogan and I went for a run in the woods. Our crew was invited to our neighbor's for a beef stew dinner last night, which was very nice to get out of the house and enjoy some time with friends.
Crystal has been doing an incredible job as a mom - she is managing a very demanding schedule and enjoying every bit of it...well, every bit but when Hogan decides to pull one of his stunts. I am so proud of her and think the boys are so fortunate to have such a warm and caring mommy. For anyone who has come to visit, they will quickly realize that managing the twins' schedule requires a lot of planning and preparation and Crystal seems to do it with ease.
Well, off to feed two grunting babies and then I think we're going to voyage out for a car ride.

Post-bath wrestling match with the boys. Our Saturday morning consisted of an early breakfast followed by some cuddle time in our bed. When the boys decided to wake up from their snooze we enjoyed bath time in the sink.

Birth Announcement Video
Instead of the traditional paper birth announcement that gets sent when babies are born we decided to share a video announcement, courtesy of Rachael. Enjoy!
